Tarot for Summer
I decided to do the Summer Tarot spread from The Seasonal Soul
At the Summer Solstice, when the sun is at its height and the light is longest, we take a moment to connect to our highest values. In this spread, we shuffle and select 9 cards and lay them out in a radiant circle.
What an interesting Theme for the summer! My summer school classes just started and I was planning out the remainder of my summer. I have 5 weeks until my Bikini Competition and I was planning a 12 week Pilates YouTube series. I was thinking about what I wanted to accomplish this summer and how I want to set myself up for success. I have also been working on a bunch of courses I want to launch. I was hoping I could help more people with courses and I have been seeing my virtual clients. But I am still waiting to get the Black Cat Tarot Decks so I can mail my kickstarter orders and I just feel overall bad about not mailing those out yet. I have a couple large expenses coming up and I have been feeling pressured about money, and then I feel guilty because I should just be happy in my life. I am so blessed and my life is so good.
1) What is the theme for the summer? Who are your spirit guides this summer?
The Wheel of Fortune – The letters TORA, TAROT, or perhaps even ROTA (Latin term for ‘wheel’) are also supposed to be a variant of the term ‘Torah’, implying ‘law.’ There are alchemical symbols on the center wheel that represent the origins of life as well as the four alchemical elements – mercury, salt, sulfur, and water. When you spin the Wheel of Fortune, you’re reminded that nothing stays the same for very long. If you’re having a hard time right now, know that things will get better. Good fortune and good luck will return at some point in the future. It’s important to remember that even when things seem to be going well, they will eventually change and life will return to a state of “normality.” This cycle serves as a reminder of the need to savor the good times and make the most out of them while you can because you never know when they will be gone.
2) Summer is the season of rapid growth & progress. What is growing rapidly in your life right now? Where will this growth be focused this summer?
THE SUN – The Sun connects you to your power base – not fear-driven, egotistical power, but the abundant, inner energy radiating through you right now. You’ll sense it in your Solar Plexus chakra, calling you to express yourself authentically and be fully present in the world around you. You have what others want and are being asked to radiate your energy and your gifts out into the world in a big way. Tap into your power and use your Divine will to express that power in positive ways.
I really want to tap into my abundance mindset and really focus on being authentic and helping people. I am so happy I pulled this card. What a great reminder!
3) Where do you need the summer fire in your life?
Page of cups! This card often appears when you are being called to trust your intuition and be open to the multitude of intuitive messages coming your way. Look for synchronicities and signs from nature that will guide you on your path. They may come from unexpected places, or they may not even make sense to your rational mind; be open to the possibility and ready to discover new aspects of yourself. It is like following ‘intuitive breadcrumbs’ – one intuitive clue leads you to the next thing, and the next, and the next. And before you know it, you have found yourself in a place of full alignment, happiness and bliss. All by trusting your intuition and going with the flow.
4) How can you help the intentions you planted in spring continue to grow & bear fruit?
Four of swords! In fact, the Four of Swords presents a new challenge: to stay silent and inactive. Now is the time to build up your mental strength by clearing your mind of any mental ‘clutter’ or stress. Meditate and spend time in a place that creates peace, calm and tranquility for you. Go on retreat or start a meditation course. You need to replenish your strength and spend time connecting with your Higher Self.
5) Creative expression reaches its height at Lughnasa, on August 1st. Where should you be focusing your creative energy for the next 6 weeks?
The Queen of Swords combines the mental clarity and intellectual power of the suit of Swords with the maturity and receptiveness of the Queen. You have the gift of being able to use your intellect and unbiased judgement while also remaining flexible and open to receive input from other sources. As you lead from the head and not the heart, you are better able to discern situations without the influence of emotion or sentimentality. As a determined, independent and resilient person, you have established clear boundaries, and you are quick to call out someone who crosses them. People do not mess with you, not because you threaten them or inflict violence, but because you set expectations up front about how you want to be treated. Some people might be intimidated by you, but once they get past your tough exterior and develop a sense of trust and respect, they see your softer side.
6) How can you make the fullest use of your potential this season?
king of cups! The King of Cups embodies the perfect balance between the executive and the heart. Not only are you able to assess and manage a situation logically, but you can also draw upon your intuition and understanding of human interactions. As a leader, you care as much about achieving your goals and objectives as you do about making sure everyone is happy and engaged along the way. If you sense that logic and emotion are out of balance, draw on the energy of this King to realign yourself.
7) The Summer Solstice is the culmination of the sun’s life cycle, which began on the Winter Solstice. What is reaching culmination within you, from first 1/2 of the year?
10 of wands – The Ten of Wands can also show that even with the achievement of your goal, some significant responsibilities and commitments come with it. When you reach a point of completion, you become starkly aware that you must now carry on with the duties you have laid out for yourself, to ensure ongoing success. The trouble is, however, that these responsibilities may become too much to bear and you are struggling to let go. It is like the business owner who creates a flourishing business but is unprepared to delegate some of his or her responsibilities to the staff and ends up working seventy to eighty hours a week. The inspiration and creativity that came with the initial goal or vision disappear and everything becomes hard work all too quickly. Thus, it is essential to let go of or delegate some of your responsibilities to free you up to still enjoy life
8) What do you need to release & let go off from the first 1/2 of the year?
The moon – There may be some uncertainty when it comes to your career path right now. You may not have a clear understanding of what your goals are and which direction you should go towards. Alternatively, your workplace right now can be a tense atmosphere, one that comes from haziness and confusion about project goals, or what everyone should be doing. Misunderstandings can be rife right now, so make sure you express yourself clearly; it may be better to repeat yourself. By the same token, you may find that you don’t have all the information you need right now to make sound work decisions. Who can help shed some light on the facts?
9) If you do the work, what will you harvest at the end of the season?
This card also invites you to collaborate with others on a creative project and inspire one another to reach new heights. Collectively, you are working towards a common goal for the greater good of others, and by reaching out to others and banding together, you can achieve a great deal by sharing your positive energy and passion with the wider community. The Three of Cups is a very creative card, suggesting that you may pursue a creative outlet within a group environment, such as an art class or a dance class. This is a great way to connect with others and to access your creative abilities.
